Do I Need Incense to Practice Yoga?
Although sometimes we ignored it, the sense of smell impacts way much more than we think in our daily lives. Just as music during a Yoga Class, incense helps you reach the consciousness level you desire in a shorter period of time, always under your instructor’s lead, while relaxing you.
If you use incense for Yoga or meditation, it will clear the negative energy in the room and will guide you at the beginning of your practice. It is also rewarding just inhaling it and awakening your senses; smell is easy to overwhelm because we don’t give the same importance to it as to hearing or sight.
It is important to pick the right smell for you. Not every fragrance affects everyone in the same way. There are specific smells like cinnamon or lemon that stimulate beta waves. You should pay attention to how you feel when smelling incense. Some aromas will contribute to relax, and others will give you a boost. Read the labels to find out more features for each smell, and if you can buy handmade ones, you will notice the difference; they are thicker, more intense, and last longer.
There are many smells available, like sandalwood, myrrh, cinnamon, lavender, musk, lemon, eucalyptus, jasmine, or the traditional incense. You can visit a specialized store and ask for help to find the right one for you.
